Tails on the Town!

Ever wanted to spend the day with a rescue dog but aren’t quite ready to adopt? Our Tails on the Town program is the perfect way to make a difference while enjoying some one-on-one time with an amazing dog in need.

Tails on the Town gives our rescue dogs a chance to take a break from the foster routine and experience the world through fun adventures, relaxing outings, and quality time with people who they’ve never met before. Whether it’s a trip to the park, a pup cup run, hiking trail, shopping trip, or simply relaxing on your couch, these outings help our dogs build confidence, socialize, and get valuable exposure outside of rescue life.

Not only is it a fun experience for you, but it also provides us with important insight into each dog’s personality, behavior, and preferences in new settings. In doing so, this will help us find them the best possible forever homes.

Before participating, all participants must complete an application and be approved by our team. Once approved, you’ll be able to schedule an adventure with one of our available dogs.

Ready to make a rescue dog’s day?
Apply today to become an Adventure Buddy! Once approved, you can use the form below to sign up for Tails on the Town.

Note: Please do not let distance get in the way of spending time with a dog you are interested in meeting. In many cases, we may be able to make arrangements to get the dog transported to and from, or at least, closer to where you are located.

Cait is an incredibly affectionate, goofy, and happy-go-lucky pup who absolutely loves being around people. She’s the type of dog who walks into a room like everyone is already her best friend. Social, confident, curious, and full of energy, Cait is always ready for her next adventure — whether that’s a hike, park visit, car ride, or simply soaking up attention from anyone willing to give it.

Cait is both food and toy motivated, making her a blast to interact with and easy to engage during outings. She would thrive with an active, outdoorsy person or family looking for a playful companion to spend the day with.

Cait would do best with a patient handler who can help reinforce good manners while still letting her enjoy life to the fullest. She is family-friendly and would do great with teens who can match her playful energy.

Nero is the definition of a gentle soul. This sweet, sensitive boy may be shy at first, but once he feels safe with you, he quickly becomes the ultimate velcro dog who simply wants to be close to his person.

Nero prefers calm, quiet environments over busy adventures and would much rather spend the day cuddled on the couch, riding along on a peaceful car ride, or relaxing next to someone he trusts while watching TV. He’s low energy, mellow, affectionate, and happiest when life feels calm and predictable.

Nero can be nervous in new environments and is easily overstimulated by loud noises or busy settings. He may bark initially when unsure, and he does best with slow introductions and patient people who allow him time to warm up at his own pace. Once he trusts you, though, he becomes incredibly loving and attached.

Owen is a happy-go-lucky, people-loving guy who's always ready for his next adventure. Friendly from the moment you meet him, he enjoys making new friends, soaking up attention, and exploring the world one sniff at a time.

With his medium energy level, Owen is the perfect companion for neighborhood walks, hiking trails, park visits, or relaxing on a dog-friendly patio. He's curious, gentle, and independent, with just enough stubbornness to keep life entertaining. Whether you're out exploring or simply spending one-on-one time together, Owen is happiest when he's with his people.

Owen would do well with an active individual or family who enjoys getting outside and doesn't mind helping him continue working on a few manners. He's still polishing up his leash skills, may occasionally counter surf, and sometimes has a bit of selective hearing. He also experiences some crate anxiety, so a patient adopter or adventure buddy will help him feel his best.
