Happy Tales from Our Adopters

  • "I am so happy with this rescue and our choice in dog."

    The people who I talked with and met during my adoption process were friendly and kind. I could feel that they cared very much about their animals with every question they asked and every answer they gave. We were not looking for a male dog. We have always had a female dog in our house. But Tails of Hope posts about JC just made us feel like we had to meet him. We applied and spoke with Amy who was very up front about if JC would do well in our home! It helped solidify that we had to meet him. The next day the foster reached out and schedule a meeting within hours! We met and adopted our first male 2 year old dog that afternoon. I am so happy with this rescue and our choice in dog. I would still be looking for a new playmate for my lab if not for Tails of Hope! -Jolene

Heartwarming Tales from Our Fosters

  • "I encourage anyone to get involved, as fostering offers flexibility and countless ways to contribute"

    “Fostering dogs fits seamlessly into my life, as it doesn’t require much more effort than caring for my own pets. Growing up with animals shaped me, and I often reflect on how every dog takes a piece of my heart and gifts me with a piece of theirs, making me aspire to their generosity and love. Since joining Tails of Hope in January 2023, I’ve fostered 12 dogs, taking breaks when needed, including for back surgery. Each foster experience is unique, but one of the most rewarding was with Teddy, a dog from a difficult background who required immense patience to trust me. Seeing him thrive with a loving family and still remember me a year later is unforgettable. I encourage anyone to get involved, as fostering offers flexibility and countless ways to contribute—whether through regular fostering, respite care, transportation, or simply sharing posts and attending events. It truly takes a community to make a difference.” -Danielle

  • "Thinking about becoming a foster? Stop thinking and start doing! What do you have to lose?"

    “My fostering journey:
    * I was the very first volunteer to join our rescue founder back in 2019.
    * Since then, I’ve fostered 108 animals!
    * I’ve participated in several long-distance transports, bringing over 150 dogs and cats into the rescue.
    * I help with local transports, vet visits, meet and greets, and more.
    * I also lend a hand at our fundraising events each year.

    Thinking about becoming a foster? Stop thinking and start doing! What do you have to lose?

    Benefits of fostering:
    * Your own dog or pack will become social butterflies.
    * They’ll also develop some top-notch obedience skills while you’re working with your foster dog.
    * Daily entertainment from the newcomers is guaranteed.
    * There’s always a snuggle buddy at the ready.
    * You’ll become a pro dog walker.
    * Relaxing in the bath? Never lonely again.
    *Your selfies will be twice as cute with all the furry faces.” -Amber

  • "ToH is where you should be."

    "I’ve always been a busy person. I had parents who taught me that one of the most rewarding things to do in life is to be able to give something and not expect anything back. I’ve always had a huge love for animals and always dreamed of one day being able to give back and help them. Working with tails of hope has by far been one of the most rewarding things I’ve done in my life. Don’t get me wrong, it’s hard work, but in the end, making a difference in the lives of the animals I’ve helped is what matters.

    In January of 2023 I received my first momma and litter from Oklahoma. Since then, between fosters I’ve fully adopted out, started fostering and then were able to split them/share with other fosters, overnighters or weekenders I’ve had just under 90 dogs. I've learned so much from the tails of hope family and I’ve also been able to share knowledge and experiences with others.

    My most memorable and cherished memories are of the dogs that weren’t always the cutest or most well behaved, but we stuck it out. (Even if times I messaged Amy saying I couldn’t do it) I still stay in touch with a lot of my previous fosters and get random text updates that I love.

    I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, IF you’ve ever wanted a way to give back, a way to make a difference, a way to be a part of something bigger, a way to be a part of an amazing family who does amazing things… ToH is where you should be. " -Brittany
